Joining the National Ski Patrol
There's really no such thing as a typical ski patroller. Nevertheless, when you hear the words "ski patroller," you probably think of someone performing a mountain-side rescue of an injured skier. The truth is, it takes all kinds to make this team. Emergency care is an important part of the mission of the National Ski Patrol. We educate. We communicate. We work as a team to help others. The first step in joining the National Ski Patrol is to first contact the Patrol Director at a ski resort where you think you may like to patrol. In this region most Patrol Directors are also the NSP Patrol Representative for their patrol. If your not sure where you would like to patrol, then contact more than one Patrol Director at different ski resorts. Each ski resorts Patrol Director has different requirements. Click Contacts for a list of Patrol Representatives in the SNY Region.
