Subject: Adapting GM Diesels

John,

I appologize if someone else has already posted this but I just noticed last
night in the June issue of LRO, on page 118, an ad for Samurai Motor
Components Ltd., in which "The Ultimate Diesel Conversion" is advertised.
Says the GMC V-8 6.2 and 6.5-liter diesels are lighter than the Nissan and
Mazda 3.5-liter diesel engines! Lots of stuff in the ad so it's hard to be
sure but apparently this company has a conversion kit to fit this engine to
the Land-Rover gearbox and so forth. Samurai M.C. Ltd's phone numbers:

    Voice: 01297 552234
    Fax: 01297 553990

Have fun!

Subject: Rovers I've seen this weekend.

An open letter for the Rover owners out this way!

Fridaynight I spotted a Cole D90 (1994), white, with a youngish couple on
board, bikini top, smiles on, the works, this Cole plated rover was headed
south on 101, around Mill Valley or so, and put a smile on my face as we
passed. (I was on my way to a Punk Rock concert in the city... haven't been
to one of those since the 80's!)
I say if not for those plastic dashboards, I'd have to figure out a way to
afford one of those darned things.
As the license plate was of the Dealer Advertisement variety perhaps one of
you knows, (or is) the owner of this newish Rover, and well Hello! Good to
see you out there on the ol' freeway. Spreading the Gospel as it were...
On Saturday I spotted a familiar 109, I've only seen it twice, once in a
photograph of an Aluminum Workhorse cover in LRW magazine, and then again in
Hayward, yes. The Saudi Arabian Bone Wearing variety.
I spotted this fellow in the back lot of The Old Vic, in downtown Santa
Rosa, I was tooling about in my 61 (as yet unnamed, please help.) and I
thought I might look for a face I recognized.
After a few passes through the Vic, I think I may have recognized someone,
yet as a Regular in that bar, I was bound to recognize someone, in anycase,
Hello to you as well, I hope you aren't the type easily upset by folks
touching your car as I put a note of Hello on your windscreen, (l love your
aero wipers by the way, I have a pair quite similar).
Please folks, when in Rosa, ring me up, I've always got time to put a
Guinness in my belly, and marvel at the size of the puddles under someone
ELSE'S Rover for a change!
Also, I wouldn't mind shooting the ol' bull with some of you cats that have
the nicely running Rovers, as mine will probably never be dialed, and I will
most likely keep her running with baling wire, duct tape and my swiss army
knife for life.
I may never fix my leaks, but I can always add more oil.
and as for those lucas electrics, there's nothing that a roll of speaker wire
and a box of toggle switches can't fix!
Happy Rovering!
