Most ECU's have a limp home mode even if none of the sensors (except maybe
the throttle position sensor) are working. You may use a lot of fuel, but
you will go home - just ignore all those lights on the dash!

All SAAB 900's had an access hole with a cover plate with rubber seal to keep
out water.

Another trick is to measure the voltage with 10 Meg or better digital meter.
Should be about .6 - .8 Volts. Also, to see if the ECU is really 'seeing'
the O2, grab the input wire with your right hand and the + lead of the
battery with your left. Don't remember if it speeds up or down right now.
Have to look. Then short the input to the frame. It does the oppisite.

Note: RR use the 'heated' sensors. Make sure you only do this to the input
wire, and not the power wire to the heating element!

Subject: Lake west of Old Sonoma Rd. off Hwy. 121

I got a Delorme Atlas and Gazette for Northern Ca. and looking through
there I see a small lake that is off Hwy. 121, just west of Old Sonoma
Rd. located between Sonoma and Napa.

There is some type of dirt road or trail that goes from 121 to the
lake, and the lake doesn't have a name on these maps. The trail looks
like it heads up to a place called Milliken Peak.

Is anyone familiar with that area and is that a public lake and/or
trail to get to the lake ?

I'm looking for some places that I can get to fairly easily with my
son to go fishing. There are several small lakes around that only have
access by an unimproved road or trail which I would like to elliminate
a lot of the crowds that will be found at most fishing areas.

Maybe I should be asking the question this way...

Where would people reccomend to take my son fishing that we won't have
to be a saliva dripping mud sloshin' rock crawling maniac to get
there, but still able to get away from the highway.

Another area I'm checking out on the map is Stony Creek which feeds
from the Black Butte Reservoir (20 or 25 miles west of Chico).

And another area is by Lake Sonoma, there seems to be some "jeep
trails".

Any comments on these or any other fairly easily accessible areas for
fishing with my son would be appreciated.

Subject: Lazy B Mailing Delayed

I've been swamped again at work (thinking about quitting just for the
pleasure of doing so :) ), so I've not had time to get the badges into
envelopes and out the door. But wait, there's more. I won't have a
chance to do so until a week after the Portland meet (vacation and
all). So some of you will get your badges at Portland (I'll be there).
I'm sorry, but the rest will have to wait some more.

cheers,

Jeremy
